It's difficult for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have already been conquered.

We're talking about the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the record chasers, are what's still available for a side that has achieved everything.

The fact it required up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batters to hold a record if never given the opportunity.

In the end, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to create her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has witnessed all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory came three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have followed from 10 attempts across formats.

The gritty keeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India momentarily interrupted the successful run.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

Whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Some will argue the argument supporting final game tension. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was considerably tougher to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it's been a frustrating experience because it seemed my form was missing completely," said Healy.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in every game, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from that point Healy was in motion.

"A chance to take the field and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 as she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

Once she was dismissed her side needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the assurance to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if we do, we are confident we can succeed."

That comment will be the final thing rival teams at this tournament want to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this triumph coming after success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she wished she had played through the pain.

However although she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is expected to be her concluding event as leader in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as captain.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
